JEE Mains registration has started: Here are the new rules –
Application process to the Joint Entrance Examination (main) has started and will run till September 30. The ministry of human resource development (HRD) has introduced several major changes in JEE to be held in January 2020. JEE is the entrance exam for all centrally-funded technical institutes and colleges. It is also the eligibility exam for IIT JEE. Here are all the important changes announced.
For the first time in 20 years, all candidates taking the JEE will face less number of questions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as well as Engineering Drawing (for architecture aspirants)
Candidates from any stream who have studied Mathematics in Class XII will now be eligible to sit for the entrance test for the Bachelors' in Planning course in JEE. For the Bachelor of Planning course, only students who had Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII were so far eligible.Also, those seeking to enter the stream will not need to take the drawing test, which will be only for architecture aspirants.
For the first time, students in the US can also take JEE entrance exam for admission in Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). India's premier engineering institute has decided to hold the exam in San Francisco next year. IIT already conducts exams at several foreign locations like Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Singapore, but this would be the first time when it conducts the entrance exam in the US.
